Job description

You are the person who looks at a finance process and immediately asks: will this still work when we're in six countries?

In the Netherlands, Eddy Grid's finance function is in great shape, monthly numbers are closed by day two. The challenge is what comes next. We're already live in Belgium, Germany is launching soon, and more European markets will follow. Each new entity brings real complexity: new accountants, new tax rules, and questions without a template. How do you correctly allocate the costs of a Dutch colleague working on the Belgian market across two entities? How do you make consolidation work cleanly at scale? This role builds the financial infrastructure for Eddy Grid's European expansion, and keeps it solid as we grow.

What will you do?

  • Design and implement an intercompany transfer pricing model that handles cost allocation between entities correctly and at scale

  • Own consolidation and annual accounts across all active European entities — and set the standard for each new country we enter

  • Collaborate with two fellow Controllers on monthly closings, ensuring accuracy and consistency across the group

  • Manage VAT and corporate income tax (CIT) filings across jurisdictions, working closely with local tax advisors

  • Build and document internal controls (AO/IC) for each new country, so every market operates to the same standard from day one

  • Act as the main point of contact for international accountants, tax advisors, and banks — keeping relationships tight and communication clear

  • Support the practical side of expansion: opening new legal entities, arranging bank guarantees, and handling licence applications

Job requirements

  • You have at least three years of experience in a controlling role, ideally with exposure to international entities or a scale-up environment

  • You have hands-on experience with consolidation and annual accounts, you know what it takes to get them right under pressure

  • You see the difference between a process that works today and a process that scales, and you build for the second

  • You move comfortably between Dutch and English: our internal language is English, but many of our external partners work in Dutch

  • You are precise and structured, but not rigid, you know when a pragmatic solution beats a perfect one

  • You take ownership without being asked twice; you see what needs doing and you do it

  • (Bonus) You have a background at an accountancy firm or experience supporting international expansion
